What can I expect during my first therapy session? During your initial therapy session, we will focus on getting to know you and your unique needs. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and any specific concerns you'd like to address. It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the therapeutic process. Rest assured, your comfort and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us.

How long is each therapy session? Therapy sessions last around 50 minutes. However, the duration may vary depending on your specific treatment plan and needs. We will work together to determine the most appropriate session length to support your progress and well-being.

How long will therapy last? The duration of therapy varies for each individual. It depends on the complexity of the issues presented and the progress made over time. Some clients find that short-term therapy addresses their immediate concerns, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy to achieve deeper personal growth and lasting change. Together, we will regularly evaluate your progress to ensure you are getting the most out of your therapy journey.

Is therapy confidential? Yes, client confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of our practice. Our therapeutic relationship is based on trust, and all information shared during sessions will be kept strictly confidential, in accordance with the ethical guidelines of our profession and legal requirements.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session? We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us to accommodate other clients in need of appointments. Missed appointments or late cancellations are subject to our cancellation policy.

What is the cost of a therapy session? Prices range depending on the service needed. Feel free to reach out to us at info@thetherapygroup.ca for more information.

Does The Therapy Group provide insurance receipts? Yes! Our team is comprised of licensed mental health professionals who are governed by a regulatory order. As such, all of our therapists will provide you with an insurance receipt after your sessions. Please check with your inurance company to discuss what therapeutic services are covered.

How does virtual counselling work? Virtual therapy at The Therapy Group is offered through a confidential and secured platform. Our clients have found that virtual therapy is equally as effective as in-person therapy, and even more accessible than services in person. However, It's important to note that virtual counseling may not be suitable for everyone or every situation. Some people may prefer face-to-face interactions, and certain mental health issues may require in-person interventions. Feel free to explore your options with a therapist during your free 15 minutes consultation.

What approaches/modalities does The Therapy Group use? We use a variety of approaches and modalities to provide support and interventions to you, your couple and your family. The approach or modality chosen depends on your specific needs and circumstances.
